Spinal Motor Workshop
If you're unsure about the language or anything else regarding the event, please contact the event organizer for confirmation.
We are constantly curious about movement, we like to try new things and learn new approaches. This curiosity has led us to organize a Gerinc Motor workshop for the first time, where we have invited Márton Keve (Landmine University) to introduce this method to us. The aim of the event is to show, through practice, how the optimal functioning of the spine and the transmission of power during movement can be supported, building on understandable theoretical bases.
But what's a spinal motor theory?
The theory is that the primary engine of any rotational movement is the spine. The torso, not a traveling body on the legs, on the contrary. In complex movements, the limbs are triggered by force from the spine, which is then multiplied by the own strength of the limbs.
Why is that important?
Because it questions the currently accepted function scheme with regard to the use of core (stabilized while the limb moves), providing an alternative that reflects the automatic functioning of the body.
Thematics of the workshop:
- Theoretical background of Spinc Motor Theory + Coiling
- How to wake up the Spinc Motor
- The basics of Rope Flow (rhythm, coordination and continuous movement, spinal-controlled motion patterns, development of neurological and motor control)
- Landmine University (rotational and anterior patterns, safe yet effective load, spine-friendly force development approach)
- Alternative approach to spinal training
- Applying coiling in fitness exercises
- Spinal training in the context of muscle chains
Who's the workshop for?
- For people who have an active life with a functional view, They like to try new things in the room.
- Spinal injuries, sports rehabilitation professionals
- For athletes who are open to new approaches, I'd like to to make their fitness training more colourful
- Individuals with chronic spinal distress who are over already on the 120,000-minute-span challenge
- Coaches, spinal trainers.
- Anyone who likes to move
Landmine University
A special power and detonation development system, one of the pillars of which is the practical application of the Spinc Motor Theory. Its main goal is to ensure that the traditional weightlifting pattern can be measured, while at the same time training real rotational and athletic motion patterns differ from the usual practices. The main tool is landmine (a weight lift bar with wrist attached to the ground at one end). Three basic exercises are the split clean (replaced recording), split jerk (replaced push) and split snack (replaced break).
Márton Keve
In addition to my past of over 30 years of live and amateur athletes, I have been engaged in body and movement professionally since 2014. The Landmine University and the Spinc Motor Theory, a recovery from a disk hernia, and then again after an injury, I began to study more deeply, because I looked for an answer to the question of what was missing from my rehabilitation and what caused the relapse.
1.- it's impossible to play sports with a stiffly held spine. 2.- practice including mixed-plane movements should also be introduced in order to strengthen the spine and function in a healthy manner.
That's how I learned: the primary role of the abs, the role of the -core, is to prevent movement in the spine, thus protecting it and creating the unit of the torso, which acts as an energy transfer to the forces from the legs through the hip, so that they appear in a task, e.g.: throwing a ball.
Spinal Motor Theory asks a simple question: What if this force, which comes back from the legs, was first born in the spine, and was born in every sport (with one or two exceptions) to maximize strength, athletes move their spines in the same spectacular pattern? And how is it connected to all of this by a footless man? Or by Rope Flow? What if we're sitting in a sports car that we've only used the brakes on? If you're wondering how strong you can be if you get the gas pedal, or if you're open to novelties, and questioning dogmas, this workshop is for you!
